High Alert in National Capital

In a decisive step to fortify law and order across the National Capital Territory, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has extended the deployment of 273 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) stationed in New Delhi. The security arrangement, executed in close coordination with the Delhi Police, aims to pre-empt potential flash protests, unannounced agitations, and law-and-order disruptions across sensitive transit points and administrative zones.

The extended deployment encompasses personnel drawn from key paramilitary branches, including the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and the Rapid Action Force (RAF), a specialized anti-riot wing.

Multi-Layered Security Across Vulnerable Nodes

According to senior security officials monitoring the deployment, the forces will remain strategically dispersed across critical zones of the national capital. Key focus areas include:

* Interstate Border Checkpoints: Intensified surveillance and round-the-clock barricading along Delhi's border crossings connecting Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, including Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur. * High-Security Enclaves: Reinforced perimeters surrounding Parliament House, North and South Blocks, prime ministerial and presidential transit corridors, and diplomatic zones. * Public Transit Hubs: Heightened footprint at critical metro stations, key bus terminals, and major railway transit junctions to prevent spontaneous assemblies. * Administrative Headquarters: Rapid response units placed on standby near major political party offices, court complexes, and central government buildings.

Tactical Coordination and Rapid Response

The central forces will operate in seamless coordination with regional police districts. Delhi Police station house officers (SHOs) and assistant commissioners have been instructed to conduct regular joint foot patrols, anti-sabotage sweeps, and continuous area-domination exercises alongside CAPF detachments.

"The primary objective is to maintain uninterrupted public mobility while deterring unauthorized gatherings designed to paralyze city infrastructure," an internal security liaison official noted. "Mobile reconnaissance teams equipped with riot-control gear and non-lethal crowd management equipment remain stationed on 24-hour alert to respond instantaneously to any localized friction."

Heightened Surveillance and Intelligence Sharing

Alongside ground deployment, the capital's security machinery has expanded electronic surveillance, integrating drone feeds and multi-agency intelligence inputs to track unauthorized convoys and protest mobilization. Security assessments suggest that intelligence inputs regarding sudden calls for mass demonstrations prompted the extension, ensuring that preemptive barriers remain intact until sustained stability is achieved across metropolitan jurisdictions.
