Chennai police have arrested the chief executive officer of a private technology firm in connection with the death by suicide of prominent digital content creator Harish. The arrest followed preliminary investigations into allegations of severe financial harassment, threats, and an unlawful demand of Rs 3 crore.

According to law enforcement authorities, Harish was found dead at his residence in Chennai earlier this week. The incident triggered an immediate investigation after family members filed a formal complaint alleging persistent intimidation and monetary pressure exerted by the tech executive.

Mounting Financial Coercion and Intimidation

Investigators stated that Harish and the accused CEO had entered into mutual business agreements related to digital media production and technological branding ventures. However, professional disagreements soon escalated into hostile financial claims.

Key aspects revealed during the preliminary probe include:

* Extortion Claims: The accused reportedly demanded a sum of Rs 3 crore from Harish, alleging contract breaches and project shortfalls without contractual backing. * Continuous Pressure: Digital evidence recovered from mobile phones and communication apps indicates repeated calls and confrontational meetings aimed at recovering the money. * Digital Forensics: Investigators have seized electronic devices, communication logs, and financial transaction records to reconstruct the chain of interactions leading up to the tragic event.

Legal Action and Police Proceedings

Following initial questioning, Chennai police formally placed the tech CEO under arrest. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges related to abetment of suicide and criminal intimidation.

"The suspect was detained after corroborating digital evidence pointed to sustained mental distress caused by unreasonable financial demands," an investigating officer familiar with the case confirmed. "We are examining bank transactions and all contractual documentation exchanged between the two parties."

The accused was produced before a local judicial magistrate and remanded to judicial custody pending further inquiry. Police officials indicated that additional associates linked to the firm could be questioned as the probe widens.
