Apple has officially unveiled its next-generation iPad mini for the Indian market, delivering significant performance enhancements driven by the A17 Pro silicon alongside integrated support for Apple Intelligence.

The refreshed compact tablet maintains its signature ultra-portable footprint while borrowing hardware muscle from Apple’s flagship mobile processors, positioning the device as a powerful option for professionals, creatives, and mobile gamers seeking high-tier processing power in an eight-inch form factor.

Hardware and Performance Upgrades

At the core of the new iPad mini lies the A17 Pro chip, introducing substantial gains in processing and graphics rendering over the previous generation:

* Enhanced Compute Engine: The 6-core CPU delivers up to a 30 percent boost in performance compared to the prior model, handling intensive multitasking and demanding workflows. * Next-Gen Graphics: A 5-core GPU incorporates hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh shading, significantly elevating mobile gaming realism and visual rendering capabilities. * Neural Engine: An upgraded 16-core Neural Engine doubles machine learning throughput, forming the foundation for Apple Intelligence features such as advanced writing tools, image generation, and context-aware Siri interactions.

Display, Design, and Accessory Support

The device retains its 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display, featuring 500 nits of peak brightness, P3 wide color gamut support, and True Tone technology.

A major operational enhancement is support for the Apple Pencil Pro, which introduces barrel roll detection, haptic feedback, and squeeze gestures to expand creative flexibility. The tablet also supports the USB-C version of Apple Pencil for digital note-taking and navigation.

Connectivity has also seen significant upgrades, with Wi-Fi 6E support doubling data transfer speeds over preceding iterations, alongside a USB-C port that operates twice as fast at data speeds up to 10Gbps.

Pricing and Availability in India

Apple has broadened the storage tiers for the new lineup, doubling the base internal storage to 128GB:

* Base Wi-Fi Model: Starts at Rs 49,900 for the 128GB configuration. * Cellular Variants & Higher Storage: The top-end 512GB Wi-Fi + Cellular configuration is positioned below Rs 90,000. * Color Choices: Available in four finishes, including Blue, Purple, Starlight, and Space Grey.
