Ghaziabad Gunfight: Wanted Gangster With ₹1 Lakh Bounty Killed, Three Cops Injured
A notorious criminal carrying a ₹1 lakh bounty was killed during a fierce armed encounter with police in Ghaziabad, leaving three officers injured.

Fierce Armed Clash in Ghaziabad
A high-stakes gun battle in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district ended with the neutralisation of a dreaded criminal carrying a ₹1 lakh bounty on his head. The armed confrontation, which took place during a targeted joint operation by law enforcement teams, left three police personnel injured.
According to senior police officials, the operation was initiated following specific intelligence inputs indicating the movement of the wanted gangster in the border belt of Ghaziabad. A specialized tactical unit, alongside local police teams, laid a security cordon to intercept the suspect.
Gunfire and Retaliation
Upon encountering the police checkpoint, the criminal attempted to evade capture, opening indiscriminate fire at the approaching personnel in a bid to breach the perimeter. Three police officers sustained bullet and splinter wounds during the exchange.
Officers returned fire in tactical self-defence. In the ensuing gunfight, the suspect sustained critical gunshot injuries and was incapacitated on the spot. Both the injured suspect and the wounded police personnel were immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility under heavy security.
Attending doctors declared the gangster brought dead upon arrival. The three injured police officers are currently undergoing treatment, with medical authorities confirming that their conditions remain stable and out of critical danger.
Weapons Recovered and Combing Underway
Following the confrontation, forensic teams and senior officials cordoned off the encounter site to secure physical evidence. Police recovered illegal firearms, spent bullet casings, and a cache of live ammunition from the scene, alongside the vehicle used by the suspect.
Preliminary investigations indicate the neutralised criminal had been evading arrest across multiple districts, wanted in connection with numerous grave offences including extortion, armed robbery, and attempted murder. Multiple warrants and a state-level reward of ₹1 lakh had previously been declared for his capture.
Law enforcement authorities have launched intensive combing operations across adjoining stretches to rule out the presence of any active accomplices. The body of the deceased has been dispatched for a formal post-mortem examination in compliance with standard procedural mandates governing police encounters.
