Tragic Fall: 13-Year-Old Boy Dies After Plunge from 12th Floor of Greater Noida High-Rise
A 13-year-old boy died after falling from the 12th floor of a residential society in Greater Noida, triggering a police investigation into the circumstances of the fatal incident.

According to preliminary information from law enforcement authorities, the incident occurred at a multi-story housing complex located in Greater Noida. Residents and security personnel rushed toward the compound courtyard upon hearing a loud impact, only to discover the minor severely injured on the ground.
Immediate Response and Medical Efforts
Security staff and family members immediately coordinated with emergency responders, and the teenager was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite emergency interventions, attending physicians declared the boy dead upon arrival due to extensive traumatic injuries sustained from the high-altitude fall.
Local police officers promptly arrived at the premises, cordoning off the immediate impact zone to collect physical evidence and record initial statements from eyewitnesses, society guards, and family members.
Investigation Underway
Investigators are looking into all potential angles behind the tragedy, including the possibility of an accidental slip, compromised balcony safety railings, or emotional distress.
"The body has been dispatched for a mandatory post-mortem examination to verify the precise cause of death," a senior police official confirmed. "We are analyzing footage from closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed along the corridors and surrounding towers, while forensic teams review the balcony area from where the fall is suspected to have occurred."
Police noted that questioning of relatives and peers will take place sensitively once immediate formalities conclude, as the family remains in severe shock.
Renewed Concerns Over High-Rise Safety
This incident has once again brought attention to balcony and window safety protocols across high-density residential towers in the National Capital Region (NCR). Resident welfare associations (RWAs) and safety advocates have repeatedly urged apartment owners to install safety netting, child-proof latches, and heightened grill extensions to mitigate hazards for children and minors living in high-rise developments.
